Echo Alums Return to Charlotte

The Echo Foundation brought back to Charlotte three Echo alums, young luminaries Katie Chamblee-Ryan, Paula Kweskin, and Justine Treadwell, who are making waves in the world through their careers dedicated to humanity. These women, all Charlotte natives, made up the keynote panel, Echoes of Elie Wiesel: Reinventing Diplomacy, moderated by former Charlotte mayor and civil rights activist Harvey B. Gantt. Together, they reflected on their journeys, from Charlotte high schools to global impact, as a civil rights attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, an award-winning documentary filmmaker and women's rights activist, and a U.S. diplomat just returning from Cyprus. This illuminating panel explored the enduring influence of Echo and Elie Wiesel, and offered bold, hopeful perspectives on the current state—and future—of diplomacy.
