October 30, 2003: Teacher Workshop: Curriculum guides
were created by
a student advisory panel with faculty direction.

Copies were distributed to teachers in Charlotte-Mecklenburg to prepare students for their
dialogue with Dr.

Bernard Kouchner. The curriculum focused on medical access,
social, economic, educational and worldwide
-
humanitarian inequities and
injustices, as well as publications discussing Dr. Kouchner.

February 4, 2004 Student Tolerance Day: (12:45 -
3:30 PM) Butler
High School hosted 700 students from across the

Charlotte-Mecklenburg region, including public and private schools and home-schooled children, to prepare
-
for the Student Dialogue with Dr. Kouchner. Students were introduced to The Echo
Foundation, Dr. Bernard
- Kouchner, and
were educated on topics specific to
project themes. Small groups were formed for discussion
- and generation of
ideas for questions at the Student Dialogue.

- February 24, 2004 Student Dialogue: (9:30 - 11:15 AM) Butler
High School hosted a 1.5-hour discussion between students

and Dr. Bernard Kouchner. Students based their questions on knowledge acquired from their
studies using

the curriculum guide and Student Tolerance Day. This was the
culmination of The Bernard Kouchner Education
